Kittens, we kicked off the week by blasting you in the face with some LEGENDS and now we’re going to take a little breather by falling back on that for which we are best known:
Being shallow-ass bitches who like to gaze at pretty celebrities and rate their style efforts, of course.
Chris Hemsworth in Paul Smith
Honestly, we’re a bit over the PeeWee suit and we’re especially over the electric blue version of it which seems to us to be a bit of a Bro version, you’ll pardon the term. Hemsworth really isn’t all that Bro-y, workout routine aside, and he’s pretty enough to make our quibbles a non-issue, but we’d love to see him try something a little fresher. Pink suit/white kicks, Thor. C’mon. You know you want to.
Tessa Thompson in Lanvin
Look. Okay, yes. We see it. We see that this dress has four sleeves. We know that’s technically crazy. But some combination of factors – and we’re going with “perfect proportions plus Tess Thompson” as an explanation – is making this work for us. The sleeve thing is gimmicky, but it’s also perfectly okay for fashion to take a common element and find a way to cleverly rework it. We’ve all tied sleeves around our waist from time to time. Why not see if you can make that work as a permanent design element? Readers are advised that Ms. Thompson is a professional driver on an enclosed track before considering any attempts at this look, howevs. We suspect it looks pretty dumb in any non-posed situation.
That clear backdrop is clever and effective. It looks like a realtime special effect.
