Olivia’s out there picking up a ton of praise and buzz for her directorial debut Book Smart (which really does look pretty fabulous), but she’s also sending a pretty clear message that she’s not gonna suddenly stop bringing it to the red carpet just because she stepped behind a camera.

LOVE.

SUCH a cute look that manages to avoid looking juvenile or twee. The thought of a puffy-shouldered red lace cowboy shirt should make any right-minded person scream internally, but somehow, she’s really pulling it off. The boot-hem gap doesn’t look so great sitting down, but it’s a minor quibble.

We’re gonna have to say no to this one. We’re so tired of prairie dresses; even more tired of the kind with sheer skirts and plunging necklines.

So she seems to be working a bit of a western-style theme for SXSW, which is pretty cute when you think about it, even if the results aren’t always spectacular. Still, we like this for the most part. It’s got a slouchy/sexy/chic ’70s vibe that’s perfectly suited to her. We realize this isn’t the trend at the moment, which is all about low-contrast, fully matched suiting, but we think a plain black blouse would work better here.

Okay, that looks hilarious.
