Posted on February 26, 2014

We may have to crown Michael B. the King of the WITFU.

The collar’s not quite right and the overall fit seems just a skosh off, but that’s beside the point. What’s important here is that he once again Willis’d It The Fuck Up, putting so many of his boystar contemporaries to shame. Love the shirt and tie combo. Not a hundred percent on the idea that it goes with the plaid of the suit but again; we’re praising effort and overall appeal. We nitpick, but we nitpick out of love.

    • @Biting Panda

Every time I see him, I fall a little more in love.

      • Meg0GayGuys6

Especially with that open mouth smile. Looks so endearing!

    • PastryGoddess

      HAWT and DAYUM

    • PlethoraofBooks

Can I have him? He’s ridiculously adorable, photogenic, and every interview I watch that he does, he’s so magnetic and mesmerizing – especially with that smile.

Oh, and his impeccable sense of style helps too.

      • jen_vasm

He’s going to present an award on the Oscars Sunday, and he’s totally on my Boystar Lookout List.

        • Sobaika

Really?? That’s so great, looking forward to the broadcast even more. Still mad about the Fruitvale shutout.

          • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

He was so good in that movie!!! He made me want to cry!!!

    • cap1764

Finally a correctly hemmed hem. He’s adorable.

      • makeityourself

To perfectly highlight yet another pair of gorgeous, gorgeous shoes.

    • alyce1213

The thing is, he (or someone) is really thinking about what he wears with a very sophisticated eye.
I think he pulls off the three prints. He’s adorable, want to hug him.

    • Anna

Thanks, Michael. Just when I thought I’d gotten my fever under control.

    • BendinIntheWind

Still can’t get away from my immediate reaction to “WITFU”, which is “WHAT IN THE FUCK?!”

      • clatie

        ha! I thought that, too!

      • BarniClaw

Glad I’m not the only one. My immediate thought is it’s What You Talking About, Willis.

      • fursa_saida

I just read it phonetically (“wit-foo”) and think “What?” every time.

    • ashtangajunkie

He’s delightful at a level that I haven’t encountered since Jerry Maguire first came out and everyone fell in love with that kid. But older, and with better clothes.

      • greyhoundgirl

Wasn’t he also on the TV show Parenthood for a season, as someone’s boyfriend?

    • clatie

he is just the cutest. he has such a lovely energy in his eyes.

    • DaveUWSNYC

I can’t wait (and hope I’m around) for flares to come back into style. Seeing pant hems hit above shoelaces still seems wrong to me….

    • Janet B

Sigh…..every time you write WITFU, I must go see Bruce again. He really was perfection in that moment.

    • Adelaidey

I would like to watch a show where he, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Janelle Monae just walk along town in sharply-tailored suits.

      • larshine

I would DVR that show in order to rewatch like the obsessive fangirl I would no doubt become.

      • Jessica Freeman

JGL needs to come out with a movie or something. His last pole dance was spectacular.

        • Jacob Bowen

AGREED! We need another reason to just look at him…

    • Rand Ortega

Yay! The new Johnny Storm! This guy knows how to work studio heads and RC’s. MERQ!

    • marlie

On his worst day, Michael B. Jordan looks 10,000 times better than many of his peers.

Love everything here, but maybe not together at the same time. That suit and tie with a solid shirt, or that shirt and tie with a different suit. Regardless, I can’t really complain at all.

      • filmcricket

I think I would keep the base colour of the tie but kill the stripe. The stripe renders it a bit business-y, as well as a bit busy.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

OK, taking into account TLo’s loving nitpicks, to the young men in Hollywood, take note: This is a well-dressed young male star.

    • charlotte

MBJITFU should be a category as well.

      • alyce1213

I think he’s reached a point where he’s the standard to which male stars should aspire.

        • demidaemon

Just think about the awesomeness if he and Lupita had to poledance together.

    • Karen Belgrad

He has now pulled a WITFU twice, while Willis has only done it once. That’s pretty darn cool.

PS Post itself is missing the WITFU tag.

    • Tricia

      He is SO delicious.

    • J.W.

      Fly.

    • teensmom99

When I saw the headline, I thought we may have to start calling this JITFU. Of course, I kid because I’m old enough to think there’s no one like Bruce W.

    • Akemi

      I love this!

    • http://www.momforless.com/ Crystal

      He is gorgeous.

    • lunchcoma

I really appreciate that he’s trying to do something other than the Gray Suit with No Tie or the Funeral Director. All you other Hollywood boys? Take a look. This is what pattern and color can do for you too!

    • Monabel

Love the plaids, conversating with each other! All good.

    • Alyssa

I just adore him…he always puts in the effort, and looks so dapper! I get your point about the competing plaids, but I think he pulls it off. He has such a great smile!

    • Aidan B

Goddamn it how does he always look so good?? Dedication, I suppose! No complaints here.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

2 checks, a stripe and some very shiny shoes and he werqs it!

    • 3boysful

Dear Dior, Please stick to men’s clothing for now. Thank you.

    • MilaXX

I like it. I think he gets nitpicks because the bar is set higher for him. On any other male star this might very well be a werq.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

Yeah. For him it’s almost an “of course”.

    • Jessica Freeman

I could have done without the huge blingy earrings.

      • Monabel

In the world of huge bling, those are not. Besides, why shouldn’t the boys wear jewelry if they want to?

        • Jessica Freeman

It’s no so much that he wears earrings, its that he looks so sharp and those earrings do not look sharp to me.

    • jw_ny

MBJ consistently looks good and puts the effort in. I’m not sure I like this look more than some of the others featured here though. Something is off with the shirt/tie/suit combo, but I’m not sure which I’d trade out. Maybe the shirt…feels casual for the suit and tie. Also, I wish I saw a bit of shirt cuff…makes me wonder if it’s a short sleeve shirt (which would negate the witfu!)

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Gotta love a man who puts in the effort on the RC.

    • gracedarling

Oh, I thought WITFU was when a formerly unremarkable boystar brought out the big guns! I’ll have to reassess my reading – MBJ is always adorable and I’d have expected no less from him.

      • Imasewsure

No no… it can be given again and again to any of the male-celebs who really put in a lot of effort to be elegant and stylish… you don’t have to have been tragic in the past to earn the award!

      • marlie

I’d say that it’s almost the male equivalent to the “WERQ,” though there also seems to be an underlying ease with which the guystar turns out a perfectly put-together look.

    • mjude

      adorable

    • Tracy_Flick

He’s perfect. He communicates respect and self-respect, without tipping into vanity. There are ladystars that do that on occasion (Cate, SWINTON, Juliette Lewis, Kiernan Shipka) but I can’t think of a ladystar who does it so consistently. He’s like the anti-Lohan.

    • Capt. Renault

Reggie’s all grown up! Jack Montgomery would be so proud… *sniff*

    • stubbornthoughts

      He’s both cute and hot.

    • decormaven

Now that’s the way to do it! Style on parade.

    • kimmeister

I’m on board with everything except his chronic inability to pick jackets that fit his shoulders.

    • Daktari100

He looks fantastic, no doubt about it, but it seems rather safe to me. So I’m not convinced he’s deserving of so much praise. On the other hand, maybe he deserves all that praise, and then some, because he’s just making it look that easy.

    • majorbedhead

He’s so adorable. And he has one hell of a smile.

    • Qitkat

This guy must be growing on me, because normally I cannot stand double earrings on guys (irrational, I’m sure), but here he just looks so darn cute.

    • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

Once again I want to make out with him then steal his dimples.

    • Nicholas Paganelli

I really like the two plaids together…putting the bigger of the two underneath gives the overall look a great play with depth and spatial balance. It makes him look broader in a good way, as opposed to a puffing-my-chest-out-for-pictures way.

    • ShaoLinKitten

He is a dream man. I fan myself every time I see him. Maybe it should be called JITFU instead of WITFU.

    • SugarSnap108

He makes me feel like a squeeing teenage girl again.

    • Pablo

Can we just stop with the earrings on men? pleaseee?

    • http://stylishsass.blogspot.com/ Terri Smith

We should have an extension of WITFU specific for adventurous prints and colors and call it Michael B Jordan It the Fuck Up.

    • jilly_d

Looks fantastic. I just rented Fruitvale Station last week, and he was absolutely terrific in it. Can’t love him any more.

ETA: maybe if you guys put up some photos of him letting a puppy lick his face. Maybe then.

    • understateddiva

      NAILED IT. As per us.

    • Trickytrisha

Them are some of the spiffiest shoes evar. He’s an ice cream sundae with a cherry on top and sprinkles to boot.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

      HE’S PRETTY. What clothes?

    • stellamaris73

I love that he not only consistently puts in the effort, but also looks like he’s enjoying himself.

Seems like a sweetie, too – moms everywhere would love him and want to feed him pie.

    • ScarlettHarlot

Maybe we could call it Wallace-ing It The Fuck Up when it comes to Michael.

    • Danielle

He is creeping into Miss Lupita territory. Werq!!

    • Candigirl1968

Wonderful. I love, too, that he always looks happy to be there.

    • Lower L

His sleeves are way too short. I can’t give him the WITFU on this one.

    • Lilyana_F

      Daaamn! WERQ, boy!

    • RuthGo

I love that he’s wearing black shoes with a gray suit. There’s been a trend among men to pair brown shoes with gray and there’s something about that that makes my eyes twitch. I love everything else too but I just had to point that out.

    • Fred Vaughn

      More chocolate stars, please.
