Of course we have the holy trinity of Anne, Meryl and Emily their own spotlight posts, but it’s time to round up all of the other attendees at the New York premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2 and give them all a piece of our minds, insofar as we can spare one.
Stanley Tucci

He looks amazing, and the skincare routine is clearly paying dividends, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t point out that his pants are too snug.
Simone Ashley in Prada

She’s had a pretty dicey red carpet history and she tends to go for tacky and flashy looks, so despite our dislike of a) satin, b) minis with trains, and c) this color, we think she looks pretty great. Her shoes are too big on her.
Lady Gaga in Saint Laurent

We wouldn’t normally credit this diva with choosing a “this moment isn’t about me” frock, but bless her heart, she did it. She looks great; chic and stripped bare, but she sure could use some jewelry.
Ciara in Romeo Hunte

Newp. That’s a mess. And it looks cheap. If you’re going to attempt denim formalwear, you should at least go for the good denim and not something that looks like it’s got maybe five washings left.
Dylan Sprouse

Generic, low effort.
Heidi Klum

Apparently this is by one of the designers for the upcoming season of Project Runway and we wonder just how disgusted she gets before putting another one of these things on. The good news is that this isn’t bad at all. The back gets a little weird, but considering some of the disasters the Heidster’s been sporting of late, we have to call this one a win.
Kenneth Branagh

The suit’s a little on the shiny side, but we appreciate that he’s sporting heels rather than lifts. He really needs to let go of the beard and hair dye. He’d look great all white.
Laufey

Look at all those puckering seams.
Lucy Liu in Georges Hobeika

We’ve always said that we don’t dislike sheer dresses because of propriety or prudishness, but because most of them are boring designs, and that we’d always be okay with a sheer dress so long as the design was interesting or unusual. We may have to amend that sentiment. Lucy, you deserve better.
Madelaine Petsch in Georges Hobeika

This is almost pretty. It’s nice to see a sheer in a color, for a change. But the skirt is overembellished (and the embellishments are kind of ugly), while the bust is way too tight on her.
Mark Ronson and Grace Gummer (in Bottega Veneta)

Keeping it simple for Mom’s big night. She comes off a little casual and his slightly sparkly jacket just looks like he got caught in a burst of rain.
Nicole Brydon Bloom and Justin Theroux

It’s nice to see him get away from the all-black looks he insisted on for a decade-plus. We think buttoned-up, tieless, with a gold chain is a very specific sort of look that isn’t for everyone. He does not fall within the range of people who can pull it off. Those are some weird-looking shoes he’s sporting.
Sofia Carson

No arguments here, although we’re not in love with the tie.
