SAG Awards 2021: Amy Adams in Celine

While we’re thrilled to have an Amy Adams lewk to talk about, we have to admit, our first reaction to this outfit was “Oh, Amy. We’re here again, aren’t we?” Meaning, she was working within the same rather narrow style she’s always preferred. She tends to like very simple gowns in very basic colors without too much in the way of fuss or concern about trends. A classic look from head to toe. And we were all ready to be bitches about it, but y’know?

This is all kind of working for us. The dress isn’t the most exciting thing at first glance, but we really love the shape of the one sleeve and the gold buttons on the cuff; a little unexpected detail that tells you it’s not as generic a look as you might think. Having said that, we don’t love the high neckline at all. We do, however, love the jewelry, which is what really makes this look. Nice to see you back, Amy. We’ve softened a bit in your time away, it would seem. We don’t expect that to last, however.
