Boy, you can tell we’re deep in the throes of a funeral dress trend when both Fanning sisters hit the red carpet in black dresses on the same night. They were once the Princesses of Pastels. Anyway, Dakota put her black dress on to join Sarah Snook in her black suit and Abby Elliot in her black lace at the premiere of All Her Fault.

Like her sister, she looks great in black and we like that she bumped up her usually low-key makeup for this one. We absolutely hate the design of that bust, which flatters no one, and we think this look desperately needs a pendant.
Sarah Snook
The makeup looks great, the overall look has a kickass quality to it, and the coat is a stunner. Unfortunately, this all leaves her looking like a mass of black in pictures. A contrasting shirt would’ve done wonders.
Abby Elliott in Rodarte
It’s funny; we’ve been railing against black dresses and black lace all month, but our one thought while looking at this was “This would look so great if it were in black instead of white.” It still wouldn’t photograph any better than the other two, but we’ve always felt that black lace trim on a white garment looked kind of garish.
