Daniel Dae Kim has a little spy drama called Butterfly dropping on Prime Video and he joined all of his castmates on the red carpet for the New York premiere.

It’s safe to say there may have been some coordinating of looks going on. We’re just grateful no one showed up in a butterfly print.

Enh. We can tell it’s a nice suit, but he’s not doing much to sell it. Button the jacket at least.
Piper Perabo in Akris

We’re surprised to admit it, but we actually like this. Normally, we’d be railing against white people wearing pale neutrals, but this one actually suits her and pops a little with her coloring. We like the sleek minimalism of the design. We’re not sure if there’s a point to the sheer overlay, but the straps are kind of interesting.
Reina Hardesty in Mugler

It’s fine, but we feel like we’ve seen about ten thousand extremely minor variations on this style in the last few years. It’s sitting too low on her. The necklaces feel kind of random.
Kim Tae-hee

We don’t love the off-the-shoulder neckline, mostly because it feels like it wasn’t designed to be worn that way, but it’s an inoffensive LBD. With a dress like this you need to have some strong accessories and those sandals, while a bit too strappy, fit the bill nicely.
Louis Landau

Somebody either didn’t get the memo on neutrals or he ignored it. We appreciate the flair of showing up in a turquoise satin shirt, but there was no way in hell it was going to photograph well. Love the rings, though.
ABOUT THE SERIES:
Butterfly is a character-driven spy thriller that explores complex family dynamics within the treacherous world of global espionage. It’s centered on David Jung (Kim), an enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him, and he finds himself pursued by Rebecca (Hardesty), a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him, and Caddis, the sinister spy organization she works for.
Second chances don’t come twice. BUTTERFLY premieres August 13 on Prime Video.
