The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey came to Jimmy Kimmel Live in one of our favorite looks of theirs yet — and we feel a weensy bit bad about it.

We’ll reiterate something we feel needs to be said every time this topic comes up: it’s not for us to say what constitutes “nonbinary style,” although we very much believe that there is such a thing and that it’s constantly evolving. We’ve always liked Bella’s minimalist, utilitarian approach because it seemed to suit their personality and looks so well, but their preferences always skewed masc-presenting. This is honestly the most femme we’ve ever seen them look and it’s kind of adorable. We love the bun and the ruffled cuffs. We’re surprised to see Bella sporting a little makeup and an earring, but that’s the thing about NB style. We may not be the arbiters of it, but we know that the whole point is that it can be neither this nor that. It’s whatever the individual wants to express about themselves from moment to moment. We love this turn for them and we hope they continue to evolve their style.
