We’ve been blogging for so long that we can track our blogging career through Superman and Spider-Man movie premieres. While we were technically still in Project Runway fanblogging mode when Superman Returns premiered in 2006, this marks the fourth Superman promo tour since we first hung out our shingles. The latest Clark and Lois to fill the iconic roles, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, kicked off the proceedings in Manila with Superman director James Gunn.
AT THE PHOTO CALL
We can’t say his outfit is doing much for him. The pleated pants don’t flatter him and that all-navy blue color scheme makes it look like he’s wearing some sort of maintenance or groundskeeper uniform. Slap a name tag on that chest and hand him a broom. Her dress is cute, but we don’t love that shade of purple and we really hate that hem situation.
AT THE FAN EVENT
As much as we rail against the monochromatic trend in menswear, we have to admit we love this. The color is an unexpected choice and we think it’s a good idea for him to avoid dressing in red and blue throughout this tour. Cavill did that during his Superman promos and this guy needs to forge his own path. Love the tie, which pretty much makes the whole look.
Can’t say we’re liking the design all that much. The bodice is fine, but we’re not loving those swagged ruffles at the hips. The color looks fantastic on her, though.
