Darlings, it’s long past time we opened ourselves up to entirely new lines of attack from royal fandoms, wouldn’t you say? We’ve been meaning to expand our queenly coverage for a while now and since we just got back from the Netherlands, we figured we’d start with theirs. Queen Maxima put on her big queen hat and paid a visit to Royal Cosun in Dinteloord, the winner of the King Willem I Prize in the Large Business category, where she got to learn more about sugar beets than she probably ever wanted to know.
Always a dicey proposition to try and put together an all-red outfit and have every piece match. She comes admirably close, but it’s all ever-so-slightly off and we can’t help thinking how much better it all would have looked with some contrast. But royals love their matchy outfits, largely for picture-taking purposes. We’re more into that giant hat, which is so much more queenly than those fascinators favored by the Brits. We like that the coat has some volume too, in order to balance things out. The brooch is gorgeous.
