We gave a few of the attendees of the LACMA Art + Film Gala the spotlight post treatment, but we’ve got a plane to catch (literally) so it’s time to round the rest of these glamorous folks up and tell them exactly what we think of their outfits.
Blake Lively in Tamara Ralph Couture
Meh. We’re very over the trend for opera coats. They’re being used to make relatively basic outfits look more grandiose than they are, which isn’t a crime, but as a style trick, it’s tired.
Cara Delevingne in Gucci
It’s giving sexy nun, which is actually a pretty good style direction for her.
Chloë Sevigny in Saint Laurent
Nancy Reagan’s bitchiest friend at the 1984 White House Christmas party.
Colman Domingo in Gucci
Looks like a classic to us.
Cooper Koch in Gucci
Borrowed his big brother’s Gucci suit.
Danielle Deadwyler in Gucci
We’re ready for the yellow trend to fade or evolve. The trend right now is for very hard-to-work shades. Having said that, she’s suited to this color, but we loathe the baby tee.
Dev Patel in Gucci
Acceptable except for the socks.
Eiza González in Gucci
As underwear gowns go, this is actually quite pretty.

It’s giving Salem Seven and it’s fabulous.

Acceptable.
Jesse Williams in Thom Browne
Enh. Borderline.
John David Washington in Gucci
The colors look great and we appreciate the fresh pair of shoes, but it feels like the fit is off.
Kaia Gerber in Gucci
It’s not our favorite color in the world and we think the marabou trend is long past dead at this point, but we’ll give her credit for elevating the dress. That’s her job, after all.
Lee Ji-ah in Cucculelli Shaheen
If it was in anything but that beigey peach, we’d love this.

No flaws detected.
Lisa Ann Walter in Greta Constantine
Her style ever since Abbott Elementary hit has not been a succession of the most…shall we say, elegant choices. This is the most chic we’ve ever seen her. The bodice is a little fussily overdesigned, but she tends to go for the fuss.
Michelle Rodriguez in Gaurav Gupta Couture
Concrete and tan are not fabulous fashion colors. We have spoken. Kind of an interesting design, but it feels like it’s trying to do too much. The dress over pants works, but it doesn’t need a coat.
Nicholas Alexander Chavez
No arguments here.
Nicholas Hoult in Dior Homme
Hot.
Ricky Martin in Bottega Veneta
He almost makes the color work, but it’s entirely too big on him. The shoes look somewhat comically oversized as well.
Sarah Paulson in Altuzarra
It looks like she’s being attacked by a large white bird.
Taylor Zakhar Perez in Gucci
The color looks great on him but the fit is utterly baffling.
Troye Sivan in Prada
We’re all for twinks getting their slutty on, but this looks silly to our eyes.
Viola Davis (in Gucci) and Julius Tennon
She looks spectacular. This might be the best dress she’s worn all year.
Yara Shahidi in Gucci
This has been quite the autumn for brown gowns. We’ve seen more of them in the last six months than in the previous ten years. The color and style look great on her, but the fit is a little blocky.
