Because this is the way of things now, members of the cast of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power came out in New York to celebrate the finale of the second season (which we have been exhaustively recapping here). Granted, you won’t hear us complain about Hollywood finding more reasons to have red carpets and photo calls, but mid-season premieres and season finale red carpets are becoming more and more common. Anyway, let’s judge these Elves, Numenoreans and Hobbits (but curiously, no dwarves).
Charlie Vickers in Boss

He never looked better than when they were trying like hell to make him resemble Viggo Mortensen circa 2001 in the first season, which is a nice way of sayng his hair looks goofy here. Nice suit, though.
Benjamin Walker

It’s a decent suit, but the style and cut suit him about as well as that beard, which is to say, not at all.
Cynthia Addai-Robinson in Azzi & Osta

We’re certainly not scandalized by a sheer top, but this one does nothing good for the outfit. The skirt is gorgeous, though.
Ismael Cruz Córdova

A little too self-consciously sloppy for our tastes. That flipped cuff is causing rage twitches in our eyelids.
Markella Kavenagh in Alexander McQueen

We know we say this every time we cover her, but it is genuinely hilarious how hard she goes on a red carpet, given how awful they make her look on the show. Can’t blame her a bit. We think this combination of items has potential, but that jacket is overdesigned, which is throwing the whole look off.
Robert Aramayo

Boring.
Charles Edwards

Also boring.
