Because sometimes, you’ve just gotta shut up with your opinions, sit back, and say “Attagirl.” Only Murders in the Building star Selena Gomez ditched the vestiges of her Disney girl background and confidently declared her status as a prestige actress who can go toe to toe with the best of them (and by that we mean Meryl Streep, of course). To mark her first acting Emmy nomination, she came looking like the A-lister she is.
She has a spotty red carpet record, choosing to go for flash over suitability a little too often, in our opinion, which is typical for would-be pop stars who have gone through the Disney grinder. But this is quietly elegant and confidently trend-averse. It’s simply a really good dress, fitted perfectly to her and styled flawlessly. No notes. Attagirl.
