Before she hit the red carpet in an eye-popping Versace at the premiere of The Idea of You, Anne Hathaway spent most of the last few days flitting around New York in a succession of highly discussable looks as she promoted the film. Attagirl. Still gonna judge you, though.

That is a whole lot of leather for the last week in April. It doesn’t necessarily photograph all that well because it’s a little shiny, but there’s no denying this is a classic kickass look and we wouldn’t change a thing.

We like how she’s bouncing from one extreme to another. The previous look had a hard, rocker chick sort of vibe and now she’s out gallivanting on the sidewalk like she’s starring in a mid-1960s musical. We’re not normally fans of white tights (or all-white outfits, for that matter), but she looks great here. Our only nitpicky quibble is with the sunglasses, which don’t really go with the style of the outfit.

Much like Margot Robbie and pink, for the rest of her life, she’ll never be able to wear cerulean without someone making a thing out of it. We had a mild dislike of the flimsiness, but for the most part, we thought this looked good on her until we got to the hem, which absolutely ruins the entire look.

Hunh. The pants are kinda fun, full of that theater kid energy she tends to embody. The top is doing nothing for them. She needed something a little more substantial to balance out the volume and exuberance of the pants. She also needs a belt but everyone seems to have developed an allergy to them in Hollywood.
