America’s favorite movie star couple hit the red carpet for the premiere of their new film. Unfortunately for us, Civil War stars Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons…
… are also America’s most boringly dressed movie star couple. Honestly, the whole method-dressing thing is becoming even more annoying than it already was. Not that we think they’re dressing in character, but we suspect there was some sort of thinking along the lines of “Our serious movie requires serious and dour clothing choices to promote it.” Fuck that! Get some sequins out here, pronto! This is Hollywood, bitches! Alas, we’re going to have to suffer through more of this until the fashion houses start putting their collective foot down and insisting stars stop showing up in their wares looking like they were forced into them at gunpoint.
JESSE PLEMONS
This is sad. We won’t even sugar coat it. We don’t claim to know the guy but we think it’s safe to say that he’s not the type to get wildly expressive in his style choices. That’s fine, but this is funeral wear. If you insist on dressing like a businessman on the red carpet, you could at least pick a nice suit and shirt to wear. But we’ll give him this: he didn’t leave all of the heavy lifting to his lady co-star. She only put in slightly more effort.
KIRSTEN DUNST IN RODARTE
It’s fine, but a little dour. The ruffles look annoying. We’ve been seeing a few peep-toes lately and we’re looking forward to them trending again. They’re fun and they always have a very short trend life.
