The Writers Guild Awards were a bicoastal event and it’s kind of interesting to see the differences between the New York crowd of celebrity attendees and the LA crowd. First, the Los Angelenos:
Jessica Betts (in Richfresh) and Niecy Nash-Betts (in Sachin & Babi)
Glamorous, colorful, fitted to the gods and gorgeous. That’s a personal best for Jessica.
Natasha Lyonne in Rodarte
Serving “Stevie Nicks at Studio 54,” which will always be her style sweet spot.
Quinta Brunson
Professional and low-key chic, but the vest fits terribly around the bust. And now the New Yorkers:
Bowen Yang
That looks like a pretty nice lightweight suit, but it doesn’t photograph well at all. He needs contrast and color in the shoes and the shirt.
Bridget Everett
She’s not a fashion girlie, so this is an admirable and appropriate attempt. She looks nice. We don’t love the floral at all. It just looks a little bedsheet-y to us. Given her preferences, we really wish some fabulous Palm Springs elderly gay would introduce her to the wonderful world of caftans.
Busy Philipps in Camilla and Marc
Call us nitpicky bitches if you must, but neons and earth tones don’t belong together. We hate that these are separates.
Ilana Glazer
It’s a night for supporting someone other than actors, so showing up in something fun without looking like you’re trying hard is the right way to go. The dress really suits her.
J. Smith-Cameron
She’s posing like hell, which tells us that she felt the dress needed a little help. It’s a great color. We wouldn’t have recommended matching shoes.
Jelani Alladin in Suitsupply
Extremely hot. That is all.
Sandra Oh
Hospital scrubs with fringe. You deserve better, diva.
