Riley Keough and Lily Gladstone took extremely different approaches to their style choices for the premiere of their series Under the Bridge and one of them looks like she seriously regrets hers.

One of these ladies looks powerful and confident and the other one looks embarrassed by what she’s wearing. Both of them are correct to feel the way they do.

Let this be a lesson to you, Riley Keough. Move on from this, learn from it, and try not to bear the weight of your shame for too long.

There was an expectation (and ensuing disappointment when it went unfulfilled) that Lily would be sporting Indigenous designers throughout awards season, leading right up to Oscar night. But awards campaigns are largely funded by studios and she would have been under a lot of pressure to sport big name luxury designers throughout the campaign, which she did, for the most part. There are so many Indigenous artisans and designers producing beautiful pieces, but it’s rare for any of them to specialize in formalwear, which is another reason why she didn’t get to wear them as much as people expected. Now that the pressure is off and the events are slightly less grandiose, she’s taking the opportunity now to do what she couldn’t then. This coat is a pure stunner. Very wisely, the rest of the outfit was kept to a nearly generic level. She looks gorgeous.

ABOUT THE SERIES:
“Under the Bridge” is based on acclaimed author Rebecca Godfrey’s book about the 1997 true story of fourteen-year-old Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta) who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Through the eyes of Godfrey (Riley Keough) and a local police officer (Lily Gladstone), the series takes us into the hidden world of the young girls accused of the murder — revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer.
