The stars of the new Guy Ritchie series The Gentlemen came out in fine British style for the premiere. To our disappointment, no one gave us a reason to be bitches to them.

Boy, he must’ve been annoyed when he saw what the backdrop was. It makes perfect sense to show up in a fine tweed windowpane plaid for a Guy Ritchie series premiere, but he is literally fading into the background. Not his fault, but a tie with a little color and pattern might’ve helped him out.

That’s how you show up when you’ve been cast as the mother of the lead. This is fun. Over-feathered but fun.

We are surprised to admit this, but we really like it. If a pair of gold cups and a sheer skirt can be called elegant, then this is a pretty elegant take. We think it comes down to styling and suitability. It looks great on her and no one overdid things on the hair, makeup and accessorizing. Nitpicky: the jewelry should be gold.

That’s the most sedate TVW dress we’ve seen in ages. It’s cute. Everything is working, but we wouldn’t call it a look that stands out.

We wish he’d get his hands out of his pockets, but aside from that, we have no complaints. It’s all a little too darkly monochromatic, but it’s also of clearly fine quality.
