That is as pure an example of the classic “socialite at a cancer benefit” gown as you’ll find anywhere. If this were any other kind of event or appearance, we’d be complaining loudly about how boring the choice is, but she strikes us the kind of gal who knows upon which side her bread is buttered, so to speak. The point is to be a famous face showing off a big, honking piece of jewelry. The dress quite literally doesn’t matter. It’s the black felt backing in a display case. We hope she got a nice check. Normally we’d say that we hope she got to keep the jewels, but honestly? The pendant’s kind of ugly.
