Hulu’s UNDER THE BRIDGE Starring Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough | Trailer, Images and Key Art

Posted on March 25, 2024

No one should be pressured into watching or supporting a TV show for any other reason than it’s a great show, but we’ll be honest here: our initial reaction to the news that the trailer for Under the Bridge dropped was “We don’t care. We’re watching for Lily.”

Fortunately, it looks pretty good, although the dead teenager drama is a bit played out at this point. Still, we may as well be honest and admit we’re only watching for Lily. We figure if you felt she got robbed of wins during awards season, the best thing you can do for her is to support her work. All too often, actors of color who get their first nominations wind up struggling for prestige work in a way their white peers don’t have to and many of them never achieve that career high again. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen. Watch for Lily. Or don’t! Just a suggestion!

SYNOPSIS: “Under the Bridge” is based on acclaimed author Rebecca Godfrey’s book about the 1997 true story of fourteen-year-old Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta) who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Through the eyes of Godfrey (Riley Keough) and a local police officer (Lily Gladstone), the series takes us into the hidden world of the young girls accused of the murder — revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer.
