We’ve long been of the opinion that Penelope Cruz’s professional relationship with the house of Chanel hasn’t really benefitted either of them. We don’t know if it’s a matter of Penelope and her team choosing the wrong options for her or if it’s simply a bad match of persona and aesthetic. We can think of no reason why she shouldn’t be the perfect Chanel woman – European, gorgeous, innately chic and entering middle age. On paper, it should be a no-brainer. In reality?
