The pink is shrinking. Barbie star Margot Robbie kept her Barbiecore simple, elegant, and of the non-cosplay variety at the BAFTAs.
It’s okay. We’ll note that two of our more common complaints of late are nicely addressed here. She’s wearing the kind of dress that calls for an up do and she’s sporting one. She’s also wearing the much over-worn and overused black opera glove, but again, they’re paired with the exact right dress for them. There’s not much else to say about the style, it’s a very sleek, almost stripped-bare sort of Barbiecore. She must feel obligated by now to see this Barbie train all the way to the end of the line, but as much as we might have wanted to see one more big cosplay moment at the Oscars, big awards ceremonies make strange places for that level of promotion. She’s threading a needle nicely.
