The Crown star Elizabeth Debicki hit the season 6 premiere red carpet doing the one thing we never thought we’d see her do; the one thing we would have begged her not to do if she’d asked our advice ahead of time.
Diana cosplay. We would have groaned and cringed and taken to our fainting couches if any actress playing Diana opted to pay homage to one of her most iconic looks while promoting the project, but the good thing about the fabled Revenge Dress is that it’s really just a basic LBD with a slightly dramatic backstory to it. Even though it’s not an exact copy of the original dress, it was smart not to keep the styling too literal. The sheer black hose and black pumps give the homage away, but wearing her hair down and skipping on the jewelry (two things we think she tends to prefer, as her style is very clean an unfussy) make it just different enough that it doesn’t come off like a costume. She looks pretty great. Then again, it’s hard to screw up a well-designed LBD. That’s the whole point of them.
