Style File: Julia Fox Promotes Her Memoir “Down the Drain”

Why Julia Fox. We almost didn’t recognize you. The star of … some things, but mostly just the internet hit the streets of New York while making the promo rounds in support of the release of her memoir Down the Drain. That’s all well and good, but we’re shallow bitches who want to talk about her clothes. And that’s the big story here, that we want to talk about her clothes. Normally, we want to run screaming in terror from her style choices but she really dialed back on the attention-seeking this time.

Given her predilection for wrapping herself up in wire and trashbags, it’s impossible for us not to grade this on a curve. We don’t actually like anything she’s wearing, but we can’t bring ourselves to get mad about any of it. Really, the worst part of this ensemble is the fact that none of the pieces coordinate particularly well with the others. In other surprising news, her makeup and hair look pretty great. What? We’re being nice here!

The bag is ridiculous and looks kind of cheap, but we honestly kind of like the suit, even if the jacket’s clearly too big for her. We’ll always dig a gaucho-and-boots combo, but the pointy toes on this pair don’t look right with the suit. Again, her hair and makeup look pretty great.
