We are happy to report that Barbie stars Margot Robbie and Issa Rae weren’t the only members of the cast to change into something hot and cute for the photo call. We’re also happy to see their co-star America Ferrera loosen up a little bit. While we appreciated her “I’m not a doll” approach to the promo tour, we also think she was coming close to painting herself into a corner. Maybe she sensed that this might be her last promo appearance for a while or maybe she just planned to unveil this cutesy-sexy look at just this time, but either way…

We love the results. We might have wanted a hem either several inches high or an inch or two lower, but it’s still a great look. The fit and color look fantastic and the somewhat basic glam styling serves it well. This isn’t a trendy or editorial look, after all. Except for the super-twee heart cutout, it might even be called a fairly basic look overall. But she looks great in it and more importantly, she clearly loves it.
