Just a couple of lost little Kens, out in the big, bad world, trying to be cute without their Barbies.
Barbie co-stars Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu appeared at the Toronto Barbie fan event together and we’re thrilled that they’re not making the film’s various Barbies do all the fashion heavy lifting. When it comes to Barbie promotional style, Margot Robbie has already established herself as the Barbie who understands the assignment, but it looks like these two Kens also understand what’s expected of them.

We’re not really feeling those loafers (even if they do reek of Ken-ness), but the rest of the outfit is really cute. It’s got a cool, chic, high summer vibe crossed with just a little bit of that Barbie style camp. It would seem the trick for the male stars of the film will be how to integrate pink into their promo outfits without being obvious about it. We’d say he’s off to a good start.
Simu Liu in Paul Smith (Jacket) and Represent (Tank)
Again, wearing that Barbie pink without being over-the-top about it. This is another cute, Ken-adjacent sort of look. Like the female stars of the film, it’s probably a good idea for the male stars to embrace colorful outfits exactly like this. We like the color story here and the dressy casual style looks great on him. More of this, Kens.
