The Cannes Film Festival premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was a star-studded, mega-glam affair, as one would expect. Let’s assess the sparkle.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Sophie Couture
The Empress of the Red Carpet is back on our humble pages and she’s serving pure insane couture. We love it. It’s ridiculous. We don’t think anyone else but a world-class drag queen could attempt this, let alone pull it off.
Aja Naomi King in Gaurav Gupta Couture
We can’t say we love the cutout and we think it might have benefitted from a little more contrast in the design, if only to take a better picture, but the design is glamorously pretty.
Calista Flockhart (in Zuhair Murad) and Harrison Ford
Neither one of them are trying too hard because neither one of them have to. That’s not a read. They look really great. The looks are classic and they each look born to wear them.
Gemma Chan in Louis Vuitton
It’s a hot dress and she looks fantastic in it, but the fit is cutting into her just a little and that could have been avoided with a fitting.
Kat Graham in Tony Ward Couture
We’re not big fans of the jacket with a flimsy skirt or train attached. It just never looks fully resolved as a design. Having said that, she’s working the hell out of this and it really is a gorgeous jacket.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Schiaparelli
We can’t deny that she looks great in it, but that’s got to be one of the most basic Schiaparelli gowns we’ve ever seen. Granted, classic, minimalist chic is pretty much her whole style deal. Needs more jewelry. It’s Cannes, darling.
