Vanessa Hudgens is making the rounds in New York to promote her latest thing, called Dead Hot: Season of the Witch, which kind of sounds more like a videogame than a movie title. It’s all very confusing! Anyway, she got a little sassy in her style choices, as is her tendency. Let’s assess.
At THE TODAY SHOW in Jonathan Simkhai
This feels like a sharp ’90s throwback. It works really well for her. We keep looking for a note or a critique, but the low-key styling looks like the right way to go. It’s all leg and killer jacket. We like the hair, lack of jewelry and the shoe choice, but if we want to be super-nitpicky, we have to note that the finishes don’t match on the shoes and jacket and the sleeves are too long. Still, it’s got a hot, New York sort of vibe to it, perfect for being pap’d on the street.
At THE DREW BARRYMORE SHOW in Jonathan Simkhai
It’s a really cute dress even if it the design is a bit too gimmicky for our tastes. Still, we have to give her credit. This noveau-grunge/boho take is a really great choice for the Drew Barrymore show. It almost feels like a tribute to the host. Kudos to her for recycling the shoes but they really don’t go.
We honestly couldn’t tell from the trailer whether this was a reality TV show or a found-footage horror film. Kudos to them for the bait and switch, but apparently it’s being promoted as a documentary film. Looks like a million cheesy ghosthunter shows on basic cable.
