We remain a bit taken aback by how hard the Shazam: Fury of the Gods promo tour is going. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but we didn’t expect such a major push the week leading up to the Oscars from a studio that’s going to be reconfiguring the over-arching franchise (the DCEU) in future films. We guess we kinda figured they’d be burning this one off, but the stars of the film have been hitting red carpets all over the world this week and they’ve been serving up some seriously attention-grabbing fashion.

But we suppose when you’ve cast such red carpet queens as Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu, you’ve gotta expect the rest of the cast to step up their efforts just to keep up with them.

They’ve clearly coordinated, wouldn’t you say?

This is by far the best thing Queen Helen has worn all month. It hits all her style sweet spots: grandiosity in a regal manner crossed with a theatricality and sense of whimsy. Her hair looks great. This is one of the few times a big-ass bow really works for us. Just a gorgeously chic and glamorous look that plays to all her strengts.

We sure have been seeing a lot of yellow lately, haven’t we? We think we’d find this whole look a little overwrought on plenty of other wearers, but she knows what to do with it. Having said that, we wish there was a little more heft to that skirt and we think the matchy bag is a bad idea.

This is unexpectedly pretty. She doesn’t wear black often enough. The naive details like the smocking and the peasant blouse feel of the top half make a lovely counter to the beautiful applique in the skirt. This may be our favorite look she’s ever worn.
