We’ve got to hand it to Wednesday star Jenny Ortega, because she and her style team have done a bangup job of interpreting goth or goth-adjacent looks that sort of circle around being high-fashion versions of a Wednesday Addams outfit without looking like a costume. Case in point:
Mind you, it doesn’t look remotely practical or comfortable, but then again, that’s kind of a built-in feature of goth style, is it not? This is very good, high-impact branding. It’s not perfect fashion by any means; the collar and cuffs both seem too large and too stiff, the skirt is almost literally inconsequential, and the belt is way too focus-pulling. Weirdly, she’s making it all look, if not great exactly, then at least memorable.
