There are two things you can usually expect from Miss Florence Pugh when she hits a red carpet: drama and nipples. She supplied both for the British Independent Film Awards.
On the one hand, we really love her love for drag-like extravagance. She does a great job of using fashion to make personal statements or just to make a splash. On the other hand, it’s just a slip with an exuberant boudoir cover-up. The jewelry is gorgeous and the cape really is a stunner, but that dress is a big ol’ nothing, which is usually the case with slip dresses. We’ve never been big fans of them because they’re so boring and they don’t take well to styling. The best way to wear a slip dress is with a pair of naked sandals and nothing else. Piling on all the foofaraw kinda misses the point of them.
