In looking over our fat folder of Governors Awards looks this morning we both came to the realization that darnit, we’re just going to have to milk this one for one more day. There are too many looks that we want to spotlight today, which means that wrapping up our coverage with a rundown post will have to wait until tomorrow. Blame it on the stars and their stylists, who delivered a high number of notable looks. Case in point, Miss Jessica Chastain, who showed up looking like a Christmas ornament.
This jumped out at us first because it’s really pretty on her; second, because that neckline is unusual and tricky and we usually hate that; third because despite the cleavage, this feels like a step away from the va-va-voom, Jessica Rabbit gowns she’s preferred for so long. We wonder if she’s making a change or if this is just one-off for the night because she wanted a comfier skirt. Whatever the reason, we like the results. To backtrack a little: that neckline caught our attention, but not because we didn’t like it. On the contrary, we think it absolutely makes the dress. If we have any critique it’s that the red lining in the skirt and the semi-nude lining in the bodice don’t really make sense together.
