Queen Latifah came to the inaugural TheGrio Awards to pick up her Television Icon Award. She turned to Thom Browne to dress her in the manner a Queen and an icon should be dressed: dramatically and distinctly.
Because you know damn well there wasn’t one other outfit worn this night that even came close to looking like this one. We really love how dramatic and stately it is; truly fit for a queen. We do not, however, love the color or the… exploding tummy ruffles, for lack of a better term. The dishwashing gloves are terrible. We’re afraid that this outfit, while impressively high-impact upon first impression, gets worse the longer you look at it. We’re impressed that she chose it but we can’t love it.
