Venice Film Festival 2022: Tessa Thompson in Elie Saab Couture at the BARDO Premiere

In our previous look at Tessa Thompson on a Venice Film Festival red carpet, we got treated to a spectacular dress which was nearly ruined by a bafflingly bad styling decision. For her followup look, she opted for flawlessness.

As we see it, at least. We love this for the drama, for the exuberant and unexpected shape, and for the fun way she agreed to wear it and have it styles. We love the way they turned that bodice into more of a hood and we think the red tights turn a dramatic cocktail dress into something richer and stranger. It has the feel of some sort of fantasy cleric or courtier to it. If we have any nitpicks to offer it’s that we think the bag detracts from the look.
