Look, we will cop to the charge that we’re milking the Venice Film Festival premiere of Don’t Worry Darling by giving half the cast their own spotlight posts because of all the drama surrounding this press rollout. We can only be as God made us: filthy, craven bloggers. But we also have to note that we’d probably have given these folks their own posts regardless of the circumstances of their promotional efforts because they all really are serving some fantastic movie star style for this one. Kudos to tall their stylists. This is a textbook case (if there were textbooks about the red carpet AND THERE SHOULD BE) of a group of stars using fashion to smooth out any bumps in the press coverage of their film. Case in point: the film’s co-star and slightly beleaguered director Olivia Wilde showing up to the premiere looking like a million bucks and change:
HOWEVER.
We can see the argument that the color is hard to pull off or that the crystal chains look tacky or that the hem calls to mind Big Bird. We’ve made it clear what we think of this look, but if there’s one thing we know about the current celebrity scene, it’s that a lot of folks have opinions about whatever Olivia Wilde is doing from moment to moment. So let’s hear it, kittens. Do you think we’re wrong on this one or are you a normal, sane person? In other words…
