We interrupt all this Emmys gownery for some equally timely prestige film premiere gownery. The Blonde promo tour continues apace and star Ana de Armas has returned to paying homage to the titular character.
Yes, this absolutely looks like something Marilyn might have worn, although her skirt would be considerably tighter. We struggle with the idea that we’re merely assuming she should extend her Marilyn cosplay to her hair, but there really is something a little off with the way she’s been wearing it so flat throughout this promo tour. We don’t expect the kind of curled and set hair that characterized the legendary star, nor do we assume every gown needs an up do, but it never feels like her hair is being styled in response to or partnership with whatever she’s wearing. It’s fine, but it does nothing for her.
