BULLET TRAIN Style File: Joey King in Balenciaga, Nensi Dojaka and Marc Jacobs

Posted on July 21, 2022

Joey King is switching up her look so much on the Bullet Train promo tour that we’d almost think she was on the run from the law — if she wasn’t posing in front of cameras in all the cities of Europe, that is. She’s always had a tendency to go super-hard on her promo fashion, but she’s really been outdoing herself this week. She’s a girl who refuses to be predictable and, no matter what else we can say about her style, we love that.

Yes, you are, in fact, looking at a ribbed, turtleneck’d jumpsuit, which may just be the least practical garment we’ve ever seen. She is inexplicably making it work for her. The pink hair and lack of jewelry were perfect styling choices to set it off.

Once again we’re looking at a garment with some questionable elements (do not love the fussiness of that bust) made better with some really great styling choices. The boots and hair take that littlest of LBDs to someplace a lot more interesting with a lot more personality.

We can quibble with a lot here – the stiffness of the skirt, the raging impracticality of leather opera gloves in a record-breaking European heat wave, the terrible way the top and skirt coordinate, etc. But at the end of the day, madam is serving a capital-L Look and she’s got the high-fashion styling appropriate for it. She looks runway ready – and we rarely say that about actresses on red carpets.
