Even though it’s MUCH easier to tear through providing a week’s worth of celebrity style when you’ve got a ground zero celebrity style event like the Met Gala, we’re kinda happy to get the week started with red carpet style that doesn’t feel quite so fraught and overwrought. Anyway, here’s recent Best Supporting Actress Oscar winner Ariana DeBose repping for the queer girls at the GLAAD Awards.
It’s simple and refreshingly easy to critique. We like the idea of this look for her – white, with silver accents and a some big-ass jewels – but it doesn’t pull together as well as it should. The shape of it is fine, but the textile looks cheap in pictures (always a risk with matte white gowns) and that side cutout is badly positioned.
