The First Lady star Viola Davis is having herself a week. While fans, viewers and critics debate her acting choices in order to portray Michelle Obama, she hit back in an interview with the BBC, claiming that critics “serve no purpose,” thereby pissing off a lot of critics and some fans. But she’s also releasing her new memoir Finding Me and doing the publicity rounds for it. Our cynical minds do not think these two facts are unrelated. Either way, the author kicked off her book tour feeling very pink.

It’s amazing how vibrant the color looks on screen, because we do not like it at all in these pictures. The jacket is nicely fitted, but the pants are a bit of a mess and we don’t like those pale pink boots with it at all, nor do we think the top works all that well. A simple white blouse and black pumps would’ve done a lot here. In more positive news, her hair and makeup look great.
