Garcelle Beauvais has been hitting the streets of New York to promote her new memoir Love Me As I Am and we have to credit her and her stylist for having a the perfect game plan for the city at this time of year, when the temperature and careen thirty degrees in either direction in the space of a work day. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star stepped out in two great looks for two different kinds of springtime-in-New York days.

First we have killer coat porn. It’s hard to make a puffy coat look chic, but those shoes and that clutch are doing a lot here. We just wish the collar had a different shape to it, because its giving bathrobe. Maybe a belt in a contrasting color could mitigate the effect, instead of that white sash.

This is not only a super-cute, highly photogenic, hard to miss springtime city look, it’s also a fairly blatant and adept bit of branding, matching the cover of the book. We have no room to get goofy or bitchy about a move we made ourselves on our own book tours once or twice. What can we say? Coordinating is never a bad thing in marketing. Still, if we’re being nitpicky (and you know we are), we have to question whether the necklace, bag and kicks really belong together in the same outfit.
