Regina Hall’s got what looks to be a tense little thriller coming out and she marked the occasion by getting her dom on.

Actually, that’s not quite true. We think this look caught our collective eye largely because it works so well against expectations. When we think of an all-black leather ensemble — or if you described it to us as a black leather trench coat dress and knee?-high boots — we’d never picture anything as cleanly simple as this. It has a softness to it that blunts a lot of the edge while still keeping it as declarative as a leather dress gets. We sort of get why the styling is so low key, but we think the one thing this look sorely lacks is one or two kickass pieces of jewelry.
