It’s rare to see Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons on the red carpet together, but then again, red carpets were pretty scarce for a good 15 months there. In any case, they look like a couple of parents who just got a night away from the kids to get a little fancy. It’s cute.
We also tend to think it was a good idea for her to bring him along just so he could serve as a fairly dull counterpoint to her anything-but-dull dress. It’s kind of funny that she snagged the most Rodarte-looking Gucci in existence. The lady clearly has her preferences. We don’t mind a wildly overdesigned Gucci jawn if it has some joy or wit to it, but this just feels like a big pile of design choices, all adding up to something both overwhelming and a little dreary and funereal. Sometimes we think Kirsten Dunst is secretly a hardcore Goth girl who tries to pretty it up for public consumption.
