“Passing” Star Ruth Negga Out and About in NYC in Tory Burch

We realize we’re well past the freshness date on the “nature is healing” meme, but dammit, that was the phrase that popped up when we came across these pictures of Ruth Negga on the streets of New York looking amazing a few hours before she had to hit the red carpet for the premiere of Passing. We have been thrilled to see major red carpet action return after lockdown, but we secretly pined for the days when we could feature a half-dozen super-cute street looks. The glory days of the celebrity sidewalk sashay may yet return and if they do, we might have to credit Ruth here for jumpstarting them.

This is just a spectacular look. We aren’t sure all the reds belong together and we aren’t entirely convinced on the belt, but the skirt, jacket and hair are doing all the work of holding your attention. It’s the kind of outfit that would turn heads even without a celebrity wearing it. It photographs well and it’s full of personality. Sigh. We’ve missed the sidewalk sashay so much, you guys. Let’s do this again soon.
