Once again, we’re gonna leap in front of someone on a red carpet and take credit for what she’s wearing. It’s sort of our brand now. Anyway, just last week we said that, despite Lily Rabe’s nearly singular ability to make them look great  – the constant rotation of The Vampire’s Wife dresses was serving up diminishing returns. Well look who got all bold and sunny all of a sudden:

In related news, we had no idea she was pregnant, which may be an indication that prairie dresses in busy florals make great baby bump concealers, if you’re looking for that sort of thing.

Anyway, this looks surprisingly spectacular, given how little we tend to like that shape and style of bodice (it actually looks worse on the model, which makes us think it might work better without such a defined waist) and how often we’ve said that blonde white people should pick their yellows carefully. The color really works and photographs well. Our only issue is that the textile’s a bit too shiny and that bodice looks a bit overworked under the lights. But we really like this style turn and hope she tries more bold looks in the Sarah Paulson mode. She’s well-suited to them. LOVE the earrings.
