We feel like we may have overloaded you on the beef content, what with our Jai Courtney and Henry Cavill posts smacking you in the face earlier today. To make amends, here’s Jennifer Hudson stopping by the Seth Meyers set on her Respect promo tour in a dress that doesn’t quite know if it wants to be girly or womanly.
We’ve sat here and thought about and we’re ready to declare that we don’t have any particular issue with dress designs that feature a faux “exposed bra” element. We do, however, think that element isn’t helped by the high-contrast black-and-yellow color combination, nor does it pair particularly well with the ruffled two-tone hem of the skirt. We also think this dress probably would have worked better in a standing situation. When she’s sitting down, your eye doesn’t know where to go, but it’s definitely not focused on her face. Having said all that, it’s a cute dress. We just think she should’ve saved it for a red carpet or a photo call.
