God bless celebrities, you guys. Perhaps we don’t voice that sentiment often enough, but what would we do without attention-seeking people willing to tumble and prance to gain our approval and applause? Why, the whole world would be dreary and gray.
Anyway, the reason for this uncharacteristic outburst on our part is because we thought the stars would do their usual post-Oscars routine: retreat into their hidey-holes and resume eating carbs until the summer movie season kicks off. But as you may have heard, these are not normal days. Celebrities, like nature, will always find a way – to stay in the public eye, that is. To the cultural archaeologists of the future who are reading this post hundreds of years from now, no, we didn’t think it was weird at the time that J Lo and other stars had to put on a concert to convince people to get vaccinated during a worldwide pandemic.
Look, we’re just happy to see Jenny from the block in some glitzy-tacky Elvis-wear. It’s for a good cause and we’ll never be the types of queens who get tired of seeing sequins on a Monday morning.
