Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach opted to keep things very simple for this look. We’re referring not just to the ensemble itself, which is relatively easy to pull off for an at-home red carpet, but also the styling, which was kept runway-specific.

We tend to wrinkle our noses at ripped-from-the-runway styling, since we think true style comes when you know how to interpret a garment or come up with your own looks, but we’re appreciative of any style efforts right now and if you’re not actually going to step out in front of people wearing the outfit, how much thought or effort should you put into it? Besides, it’s not like she doesn’t look amazing here. Ironically, if she actually was stepping out on a red carpet, we think the slight mismatch of the shoes would come off more deliberate in that lighting. Still, runway-specific or not, they look way more suited for drag than fashion. Not that a girl can’t get a little sparkle on if she wants to.
