On the one hand, the color looks amazing on her. And we think we like all the cutouts, believe it or not. They add just the right amount of interest up near the face, which is most of what you’re going to see for a teleconferenced talk show appearance. Of course it practically goes without saying that her hair looks amazing. So do the shoes, for that matter.
Are you feeling the gap in our assessment? Fine. We’ll say it: the fit isn’t great, the fabric is a bit heavy, and the uneven hem (which is not seen in the look book version below) is an element too far. There are just too many aspects to this dress, if that makes any sense. She makes it work for her because all the parts that work really work, but we think the cut and the heaviness of the fabric make it a tough dress to pull off, head to toe.
