She looks like the most stylish Bond villain you ever saw. We want to see this woman’s plans for world domination, for surely she has them written up and in her pocket.

As we noted when talking about Dr. Biden’s coat, Michelle Obama had – and clearly still has – a highly evolved sense of how to use fashion in symbolic and message-sending ways. If you remember the last inauguration, she showed up in one of her least notable public outfits, with her hair center-parted and pulled back. It wasn’t a celebratory look at all. Here, she’s got the full blowout treatment, eye makeup to make a Supreme jealous, a belt that’ll knock you out, and a big ol’ pair of pants. She’s not here to be your FLOTUS. She’s not here to look demure. She’s here to look like a fucking legend and breathe a deep sigh of relief. This may be one of our fave Shelley O looks of all time. It’s THAT kickass.
