“Come Play” Star Gillian Jacobs in Isabel Marant on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Attention should be paid to Miss Gillian, who has not only been out here on these streets doing the promo work most other stars have skipped this year, but she’s been doing it in a succession of very different looks that show just how much fashion range she has and just how willing she is to switch things up a bit. We covered two of her looks in Friday’s leftovers; a classic men’s-style suit and a cute little party frock. She followed that up with this little side trip into ’80s fashion for her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel:

We love the sense of adventure in the styling, but unfortunately, a glance at the look book shots and we can tell this suit did not call for the rather obnoxiously focus-pulling accessories she chose. Love the boots, but the pants were no designed to be tucked into them, just as that cropped jacket was not designed for a belt, let alone a championship wrestling one. To be fair, we just go done harrumphing at Amanda Seyfriend for making a boring fashion choice at a time when we’re all starving for something with a little more oomph to it, so we’ll give Miss Gillian credit for never going the dull route. Unforch, this time, her sense of adventure led her down some questionable style paths.
